Researchers at the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches , University of Mosul, Commence the Harvest of Sorghum and Sweet Corn Crops.

On Saturday, November 9, 2025, a research team from the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul began the harvest of Sorghum and sweet corn crops. The work was carried out under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Maen Mohammed Saleh, Dr. Islam Abdul Sattar Asmeer, and Asst. Lecturer Ammar Habib Mahmood, with the participation of several engineers from the center.
This activity aims to evaluate the performance of several genetic lines in order to identify promising varieties characterized by high productivity and adaptability to local environmental conditions. The outcomes of this research are expected to support farmers and enhance food security, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pursued by the University through its research and applied activities — particularly Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
