Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches Organizes Workshop on the Use of Scientific Plagiarism Detection Software.

In its continuous endeavor to enhance academic integrity and develop the skills of its researchers, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul organized a specialized scientific workshop titled “How to Use the Plagiarism Detection Program”
The workshop was held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in the ” AFCAR ” Hall at the Center’s headquarters, and was attended by a number of the Center’s researchers and faculty members. The presenters for the workshop were:
- Lecturer . Dr. Israa Tawfiq Aziz / Electronic Computer Center – University of Mosul.
- Assist. Lecturer Nadia Qutaiba Mohammed Saeed / Electronic Computer Center – University of Mosul.
The workshop provided a detailed explanation of how to use the “Turnitin” program, one of the most prominent globally recognized software for detecting scientific plagiarism. The lecturers focused on the mechanism for activating the program and using it to check scientific research, not only for textual plagiarism but also for the program’s capability to detect Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated content, which represents a new challenge in academic circles.
This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Center to raise the efficiency of researchers and ensure the quality and originality of the research it produces. Plagiarism checking is considered an essential step to ensure researchers’ adherence to ethical standards and the protection of intellectual property, and it is a key requirement for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
