Scientific Visit of Faculty Members and Students of the College of Agriculture and Forestry to the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul in Support of Sustainable Agriculture.

On Sunday, 14 December 2025, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches received second-year students from the Department of Field Crops and the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering as part of the scientific field visit program aimed at enhancing practical learning and strengthening the link between students and real-world research environments.

The scientific delegation was welcomed by Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Altaweel, Director of the Center, and Professor Dr. Salem Hamadi Antar, who delivered a scientific lecture addressing the Center’s operational mechanisms and highlighting its most prominent research activities in the fields of dryland and conservation agriculture.

The faculty members and students were also accompanied on a field tour throughout the Center, which included visits to the scientific laboratories as well as the modern machinery and equipment available at the Center. This tour provided students with a valuable opportunity to closely observe the research and technical capabilities of the Center.

This visit comes within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, which focuses on ending hunger, achieving food security, and promoting sustainable agriculture through the development of safe and sustainable food production methods supported by scientific research and practical applications.
