Scientific Visit of Food Science Students / College of Agriculture and Forestry to the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches – University of Mosul.

The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul welcomed, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, third-year students from the Department of Food Sciences / College of Agriculture and Forestry, accompanied by a number of faculty members. The visit was part of the scientific visit program aimed at enhancing practical learning and linking students with the research environment.
The students were received by Assistant Professor Dr. Ma’an Mohammed Saleh, Head of the Genetic Resources Department at the Center, who delivered an introductory lecture addressing the nature of the Center’s work and its most prominent research activities in the field of dryland and conservation agriculture. The lecture also highlighted the legume crops implemented in the Center’s fields, which were introduced from international organizations and research centers.
Dr. Saleh also accompanied the students on a field tour of the Center’s facilities, which included visits to scientific laboratories as well as an introduction to the modern machinery, equipment, and technical infrastructure available at the Center. This provided students with an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the Center’s research capabilities and to strengthen their understanding of the applied aspects of agricultural studies.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening academic and research cooperation between the Center and educational institutions, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 15 (Life on Land), through supporting applied education and protecting terrestrial ecosystems.
