The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul welcomed, on Monday, December 15, 2025, third-year students from the Department of Soil and Water Resources / College of Agriculture and Forestry, accompanied by a number of faculty members. The visit was conducted as part of the scientific visit program aimed at introducing students to modern agricultural laboratories and the design and application of technologies used in greenhouses.

The students were received by Dr. Islam Abdul Sattar Asmeer and Assistant Lecturer Ammar Habib Mahmoud, faculty members at the Center, who delivered introductory lectures addressing the nature of the Center’s work and its most prominent research activities in the field of dryland and conservation agriculture. The lectures also included an overview of the legume crops implemented in the Center’s fields, which were sourced from international organizations and research centers.

The students were also taken on a field tour that included visits to the Center’s greenhouses, where they were introduced to the design methods and agricultural management practices adopted, thereby enhancing the practical aspect of their academic studies and linking theoretical knowledge with field application.

This visit comes within the framework of strengthening academic and research cooperation between the Center and educational institutions, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 15 (Life on Land), through supporting applied education and protecting terrestrial ecosystems.
