On March 8, 2026, the Council of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul held its regular meeting, chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Sobhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, Director of the Center, with the attendance of all council members. The meeting discussed a number of scientific, administrative, and organizational matters included in its agenda as part of ongoing efforts to follow up on the center’s activities and further develop its research and institutional performance.

  During the meeting, members reviewed the most prominent scientific and research activities carried out by the Center during the previous period. They also discussed future plans for research projects and training programs aimed at supporting sustainable agriculture and developing modern technologies for natural resource management in dry regions. In addition, the council emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific cooperation with research institutions and agricultural bodies concerned with agricultural development.

  This meeting aligns with the strategic direction of the University of Mosul in supporting scientific research and achieving sustainable development goals, particularly in the fields of food security, combating desertification, conserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, thereby contributing to community service and supporting the agricultural sector.
