“Ramadan Joy and Eid” … A Pioneering Humanitarian Initiative by the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul to Bring Smiles to Orphans and Chaste.

Under the patronage of Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, Director of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research , and in cooperation with various university departments, the Center launched a humanitarian initiative titled “Ramadan Joy and Eid” aimed at bringing happiness to orphans and underprivileged families.
As part of this initiative, the Center welcomed on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, one hundred children (50 boys and 50 girls) from Al-Hadbaa Primary School Complex for Boys and Girls. The children were given an educational and recreational tour within the University of Mosul, which included a visit to the Natural History Museum, a tour of the Central Library, and an introduction to the Center’s facilities. The visit created an atmosphere of joy and positive engagement.
Through this initiative, the Center reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to its social responsibility. Such activities represent one of the highest forms of social solidarity, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and compassion within the community, especially during the last week of the holy month of Ramadan, inspired by humanitarian and religious values that promote empathy and mutual support.
The event concluded with the distribution of Eid clothing and gifts to the children in a joyful atmosphere, attended by the Center’s Director, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, retired Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Asmeer Al-Rajbo, and a number of the Center’s staff members.
