Visit of College of Agriculture and Forestry Students to the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul welcomed fourth-year students from the Field Crops Department for a scientific visit as part of the “Rangeland Management” course. Dr. Islam Abdel Star provided a comprehensive explanation of the center’s research and service activities, highlighting its role in supporting farmers and advancing scientific research, particularly in arid and semi-arid environments.
The visit included a field tour of the center’s departments, laboratories, and research facilities, during which students observed the scientific and technical capabilities and the methods for conducting field and laboratory experiments. This experience strengthened the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in sustainable agriculture.
The visit reflects the center’s efforts to enhance scientific collaboration between faculties and research centers, exchange expertise, and support applied research, contributing to several Sustainable Development Goals, including:
-
Goal 4 (Quality Education): Developing scientific research and building academic capacities.
-
Goal 2 (Zero Hunger): Supporting agricultural research and improving food production.
-
Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): Applying modern technologies in scientific research.
-
Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Expanding collaboration opportunities between universities and research centers.
