Workshop at the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research , University of Mosul, Discusses Mechanisms for Marketing Scientific Outputs and Transforming Them into Economic Value.

  Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, Director of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research , and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, the Center organized a workshop on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, entitled:

“Mechanisms for Marketing Scientific Outputs.”

  The workshop lectures were delivered by Dr. Rayan Salem Mahmoud, Lecturer Abbas Ali Ahmed, and Agricultural Engineer Raghad Huthban Mohammed. The workshop addressed the importance of marketing scientific outputs within the knowledge economy and emphasized the need to transform research into applicable products and services with economic and societal value.

  The workshop highlighted that marketing scientific outputs represents an integrated system aimed at delivering research results to beneficiaries through organized and effective approaches, thereby enhancing innovation and ensuring the practical utilization of academic knowledge, as well as strengthening the linkage between scientific research and development needs and labor market demands.

  The themes of this workshop align with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

  • Goal 4 (Quality Education): by linking scientific research with practical application and fostering innovation.

  • Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): through transforming research into projects and startups.

  • Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): by supporting innovation, technology transfer, and the development of knowledge-based industries.

  • Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): by utilizing research outcomes to improve quality of life.

  • Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): by enhancing collaboration between academic institutions and both public and private sectors.

   This workshop comes include the ongoing efforts of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul to promote a culture of marketing scientific research and transforming it into real developmental and economic value that serves society.
