Towards Smart and Sustainable Agriculture… The Center for Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul Leads the Adoption of Modern Agricultural Innovations.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, Director of the Center for Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research , and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, the Center organized a workshop on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, entitled:
“Adoption of Modern Agricultural Innovations.”
The workshop lectures were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Abbas Ali Ahmed and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Ibrahim Abd, who highlighted the importance of adopting modern agricultural technologies in developing the agricultural sector, improving productivity, and enhancing food security. They also emphasized the role of these technologies in optimizing resource use and reducing costs through applications such as smart irrigation and precision agriculture.
The workshop further shed light on the role of agricultural innovations in addressing environmental challenges, particularly climate change and water scarcity, in addition to encouraging investment in agricultural technology and supporting initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable agricultural development.
