Strengthening Agricultural Research Operations: Mechanization Technologies Team Conducts Weed Removal in the Center’s Greenhouses.

As part of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of its agricultural research and field operations, a specialized team from the Mechanization Technologies Department carried out weed removal operations inside the Center’s greenhouses on Monday, 7 September 2026.
The operation involved the use of appropriate agricultural equipment to remove weeds and unwanted vegetation, contributing to the preparation of a favorable growing environment for crops and reducing competition for essential resources, including water, nutrients, and sunlight.
The Mechanization Technologies Department continues to play an important role in supporting the Center’s research and field activities by providing the required mechanical and technical services. Such operations contribute to improving work efficiency, maintaining research facilities, and supporting the Center’s objectives in agricultural research, innovation, and sustainable development.
This activity is aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger; SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; and SDG 13: Climate Action.
