Technical Workshops
Technical workshops at the University of Mosul form a vital cornerstone in sustaining the operation of the campus’s technical systems and equipment. They are entrusted with preparing detailed maintenance reports and carrying out direct repair work on electrical, electronic, mechanical, and vehicular equipment, thereby ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The workshops are composed of five specialized units that function in an integrated manner:
• Vehicles and Generators Maintenance Unit: Responsible for servicing and repairing university vehicles and diesel machinery, in addition to maintaining electrical generators to guarantee uninterrupted operation, supported by routine performance inspections.
• Cooling and Air Conditioning Maintenance Unit: Specializes in the installation and servicing of central air-conditioning systems, split units, and refrigerators. The unit also prepares procurement reports and conducts both preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Electrical and Electronic Equipment Maintenance Unit: Addresses malfunctions in copiers, printers, computers, elevators, motors, pumps, and medical devices, while providing technical solutions to ensure smooth operation.
• Metalworking Unit: Manufactures metallic structures such as benches, shades, and doors, and undertakes repair and modification work across the campus. The unit also produces custom-designed metal shelters and components.
• Carpentry Unit: Produces office furniture, desks, and wooden tables. It is equipped with CNC machines for high-precision wood cutting based on required designs, in addition to executing various maintenance tasks for wooden fixtures.
Together, these technical workshops serve as an indispensable support system for both academic and service activities at the University. By safeguarding a fully functional and efficient operating environment, they contribute directly to the continuity and quality of the University’s educational mission.
