Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamaladdin Al-Ahmedy, Rector of University of Mosul receives Prof. Wolfgang, director of the Unit of the Studies of Peace and Struggle, University of Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria, and director of the UNESCO chair in the university, which is 350 years old, in his office, September 25 2019.Discussions turned around the mechanisms and rules for preparing the ground to initiate peace studies at University of Mosul, and its capacity to open a center for Peace Studies, being a rich milieu in respect to fulfilling the concept of peaceful coexistence, which is outspokenly advocated by Rector Al-Ahmedy, since assuming his position. The two agreed upon working to get the necessary support and maintain dialogue to create a UNESCO chair at University of Mosul. At the end of the meeting, Professor Wolfgang presented the first version of his book series on the curricula of peace studies, translated into Arabic, to the Rector, expressing his admiration and happiness of the achievements of the university after its rebirth from the destruction by terrorism.
