Under the patronage and presence of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Dr. Saba Khair Al-Din Ibrahim, the Environmental Research Center, in collaboration with the Dry and Conservation Agriculture Research Center, organized a scientific symposium titled “Desertification and Resistant Plants… Environmental Solutions” on Monday, December 16, 2024.

The symposium began with an opening speech, followed by scientific sessions that included five lectures addressing:

The economic and environmental impacts of desertification.

The role of resistant plants in combating desertification.

Sustainable solutions and the improvement of ecosystems.

Environmental measures to mitigate desertification.

The event concluded with a discussion session and recommendations aimed at addressing the effects of desertification, the role of resistant plants in its mitigation, and the importance of sustainable environmental solutions.
