Higher National Committee for Countering Violent Extremism visits the University of Mosul

Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received a delegation from the Higher National Committee for Combating Violent Extremism, headed by Mr. Ali Al-Badiri, in the presence of the Nineveh Governor’s Assistant for Organizations Affairs, Jurist Ali Omar Khader.
The visit discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the committee and the university to develop awareness programs aimed at combating extremism and promoting a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence in society. They also discussed the importance of the role of academic institutions in supporting national efforts to combat extremist ideology through awareness-raising, scientific research, and student activities.
Mr. Al-Ibrahimi and the visiting delegation conducted a field tour of the university corridors, during which they were briefed on the most prominent achievements and scientific projects that the university is working on, in addition to discussing how to benefit from these projects to support initiatives to combat extremism and enhance intellectual security
