The President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, received on Monday, January 27, 2025, the Governor of Nineveh, Mr. Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil, where they conducted an inspection tour of the University of Mosul Stadium, to review the stages of rehabilitation work according to international specifications, stressing the university’s commitment and its efforts to provide material and logistical capabilities in order to complete the work in it.
The Governor of Nineveh emphasized the governorate’s determination to complete the rehabilitation operations, increase the number of seats and complete the delegations’ guest house within 20 days, and solve the technical obstacles facing the progress of the work in coordination with the Reconstruction Fund for Affected Areas, while adhering to international technical specifications for sports, in order to give local sports clubs the opportunity to play on their own ground.

The inspection tour was attended by Mr. Nashwan Mahjoub, Director of the Fund for Reconstruction of Damaged Areas in Nineveh, Sports Advisor Dr. Haris Mohammed, and Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamed Al-Suwaidi.
