University of Mosul launches the first cybersecurity hackathon at the level of Iraqi universities

The Electronic Computing Center at the University of Mosul, through the Cybersecurity Division, organized the first cybersecurity hackathon competition in Iraqi universities, in cooperation with Taqa Computers, which provided in-kind support and valuable prizes for the winners.
The competition commenced on Sunday, February 23, 2025, and lasted for two days, with the participation of students of relevant disciplines, with the aim of enhancing their practical skills in addressing cyberattacks and analyzing risks.
This event comes within the framework of the university’s efforts to consolidate its leadership in cybersecurity by providing a competitive environment that simulates real-life challenges, and preparing a generation capable of protecting digital systems in light of the increasing cyber threats.
