A master’s thesis by Basil Jardo Adi Al-Qayrani, entitled “The Phonetic Lesson of Abdul Fattah Abdul Alim Al-Barkawi (died. 2008), was discussed at the College of Arts on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and part of the discussion was attended by Professor Dr. Mounir Salem Taha, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, and a number of professors and researchers at the college.
The study shed light on the phonetic lesson of Abd al-Fattah Abd al-Alim al-Barkawi, by analyzing his phonetic opinions and comparing them with ancient and modern phonetic sources, while highlighting his contributions in this field.

The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Hilal Ali Mahmoud, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Idris Suleiman Mustafa and Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Hazem Hassan, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Rafea Abdul Ghani Younis.
