University of Mosul delegation and Ruya Watan team visit Mar Mati Monastery

A delegation from the University of Mosul, headed by Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University, and attended by the University Council, visited Mar Mati Monastery, one of the oldest Christian monasteries in Iraq, accompanied by the Ruya Watan Team.
This visit came as the first activity of the Ruya Watan volunteer team, with the participation of 365 volunteers, within the framework of promoting cultural communication and peaceful coexistence between the components of society. The delegation was briefed on the history of the monastery and its heritage monuments, and listened to an explanation of its religious and historical importance.
The university president emphasized that this visit coincided with the launch of the tourism season in Nineveh Governorate, stressing the importance of preserving the cultural and civilizational heritage of Iraq and the role of academic institutions in supporting national identity and promoting cultural diversity.
