University of Mosul Honors Its Architectural Legacy by Naming a Hall After Renowned Iraqi Architect Zaha Hadid

In recognition of her achievements and architectural legacy, the University of Mosul has named one of the large halls at the College of Engineering after the world-renowned architect, Zaha Hadid, who was originally from Mosul. This gesture honors her exceptional contributions to architecture, which helped elevate Iraq’s name on the global stage.
Through her innovative designs and famous buildings across various countries, she embodied creativity, innovation, and modernity. The decision to name the hall after her serves as a tribute to her memory and as a reminder of her role in enhancing Iraq’s cultural, artistic, and scientific standing.
It is worth mentioning that Zaha Hadid received numerous prestigious global awards throughout her career, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004, which is considered the “Nobel” of architecture.
