College of Basic Education discusses doctoral dissertation on teaching strategies in the development of handball skills

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a doctoral dissertation by researcher Omar Mohammed Sami Nazir entitled “The impact of peer teaching strategies and flexible groups on cognitive achievement, performance development and skill achievement of the most important offensive skills in handball”, part of which was attended by Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, in the presence of Prof. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi.
The study aimed to analyze the impact of peer teaching strategies and flexible groups on the development of cognitive achievement and offensive skills in handball, highlighting the conditions for applying each of them and the factors affecting them, and reviewed the characteristics of learning within flexible groups and the mechanisms of their formation, and the results showed the superiority of the experimental groups in cognitive achievement and skill performance compared to the control group.
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Safaa Dhannoun Ismail, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Amal Nouri Boutros, Assistant Professor Dr. Sabah Jassim Mohammed, Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Musa Ibrahim, Assistant Professor Dr. Fawaz Jassim Hamdoun, and Assistant Professor Dr. Qusai Hazem Mohammed, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Fattah Rashid, under the supervision and membership of Prof. Qusai Hazem Mohammed.
