The Mosul Studies Center and the Student Activities Department Collaborate to Hold a Cultural Festival in Commemoration of the Cultural and Heritage Legacy of Mulla Othman Al-Mosuli

 

In the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Afine, Dean of the College of Arts, representing Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, the cultural festival titled “Mulla Othman Al-Mosuli: History, Culture, and Heritage” was held. The event was organized by the Mosul Studies Center and the Student Activities Department at the University of Mosul on Monday, April 14, 2025.

The festival was attended by cultural figures and well-known historical and heritage figures from Mosul.

The festival included lectures dedicated to discussing the life of Mulla Othman, his works, and his musical and melodic contributions. It also highlighted his certifications in the Qur’an and Qur’anic recitations, as well as the Mosuli musical style “Tanzila” and his travels to neighboring countries, where he shared this distinguished heritage. Mulla Othman is considered one of the symbols of Mosul, affirming the city’s identity and the brilliance of its people throughout all eras.
