The Special Needs Unit, in collaboration with the Disability Rights Authority in Nineveh, and with the participation of the “I Can” voluntary team, organized a workshop titled:
“Social Inclusion for People with Disabilities and Special Needs in Light of Law No. 11 of 2024 (Amended),” on Monday, April 14, 2025.

The workshop was attended by several university officials and students with disabilities. The session was led by Dr. Hassan Hamad Abdul Shabani, Head of the Employment Unit at the Disability Rights Authority, Assistant Professor Dr. Basma Fares Al-Saraj from the College of Arts / Department of Sociology, and Lecturer Dr. Wissam Abdul Hamid Abdul Allah Toma Al-Jubouri from the College of Islamic Sciences / Department of Hadith and Its Sciences. The focus of the workshop was on introducing the rights of this important group in light of the recent legal amendments.
