Nineveh between trace and ether : Paintings that reshape memory and identity

 

In a journey that evokes beauty and calls for quality, the journey of plastic art landed at the University of Mosul, where Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University, opened on Monday morning, April 21, 2025, the art exhibition organized by the Contemporary Formation Laboratory in the hall of the Plastic Arts Museum/Student Center.

Dr. Al-Ibrahimi toured the exhibition, listening to detailed explanations about the establishment of the laboratory and its goals of translating artistic visions into a visual reality that deepens the anthropological memory and contributes to reshaping the visual identity of the city of Mosul through the language of contemporary formation.

The exhibition featured a variety of paintings, sculpture, calligraphy and decorative works by 34 artists from different regions of Nineveh province, reflecting the richness of the cultural environment and the aesthetic sense rooted in the features of this ancient land.
