The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on “Environmental Awareness in the Novels of Maysaloun Hadi”.

The study submitted by student Ahmed Abdulkarim Ramadan addressed environmental criticism, which is an important tool to shed light on the relationship between humans and the environment, as it reveals the effects of human behavior on the environment and seeks to promote awareness of the importance of preserving it. Through it, literary texts are analyzed to understand how literature reflects environmental challenges, warning of the dangers of pollution and destruction of the environment.

The study aimed to demonstrate the importance of environmental criticism, highlighting its role in shedding light on environmental degradation and distortion of nature, by analyzing selected texts from Maison Hadi’s novels from a feminist ecological perspective, as the importance of women in protecting the environment and raising environmentally conscious generations was highlighted.

The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Faiza Muhammad Mahmoud, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdullah and Lecturer Dr. Raeda Abbas Ali, under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Younis Saleh Al-Juraisi.
