Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, chaired on, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the presence of all council members, the 17th meeting session of the University Council for the academic year 2024-2025.

A number of topics were discussed, the most important topic was the need to hold conferences on combating violent extremism leading to terrorism and combating drugs in response to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on these two important topics in intensifying their activities, to protect students from slipping into their negative and dangerous effects.

The importance of urging faculty members to continue scientific research, which is one of the most prominent criteria for academic excellence, to give them the ability to teach in new and renewed methods on a continuous basis.

The Council also discussed the mechanism of the work of the scientific promotion committees in the colleges to promote their work and achieve their great goals.

It also directed the colleges to conduct the final exams according to the bubble sheet system and the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The Council also discussed a number of other paragraphs on its agenda.
