After completing the requirements for programmatic accreditation and university performance scientifically and administratively, the Department of Earth Sciences in the College of Science at the University of Mosul received preliminary approval for programmatic accreditation to be the first department of the college to win this prestigious academic space.

This distinction came as a result of diligent follow-up and continuous efforts from the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, for a university that adopts international scientific programs to reach the world.

In addition to continuous coordination between the various joints of the college, under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Hayam Adel Ibrahim, Dean of the College, and the continuous support of the administrative and teaching staff who worked with dedication and sincerity to achieve the requirements of accreditation and raise the level of academic performance in the department.
The instructions of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University Presidency also had a clear impact in this distinguished academic context.
