The Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Division at the University of Mosul Holds Its Third Meeting for 2025

The Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Division at the University of Mosul held its third meeting on Monday, June 16, 2025, with the participation of liaison members from the university’s colleges. The meeting aimed to follow up on the outcomes of the second phase of the ministerial training program for business incubators, which consists of seven phases, as part of the government’s strategic plan to support the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Iraqi universities.

During the meeting, the achievements of the second phase were reviewed. This phase focused on building institutional infrastructure and developing human resources capable of supporting and nurturing entrepreneurial projects. It also addressed the requirements for fostering a culture of innovation among students and academic staff.

Additionally, the preliminary plan for organizing investment and entrepreneurship exhibitions was discussed. These exhibitions are planned in collaboration with universities in Nineveh Governorate, with the goal of showcasing student and research-based entrepreneurial projects and linking them to the industrial and economic sectors.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the discussion of the division’s future work plan for the next five years (2025–2030), which includes strategic pillars such as:

Strengthening partnerships with the private sector and development institutions.

Establishing specialized workspaces in priority colleges.

Developing incubation programs tailored to the nature of each academic discipline.

Organizing specialized workshops to build students’ capacities in technical and economic areas.

Launching indicators to measure the incubator’s impact on the university environment and the local community.
