UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul announces the winners of its short story competition

 

Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, attended the ceremony held by the UNESCO Chair on the occasion of announcing the results of the “Narratives of Peace” competition. on, Monday, June 16, 2025.

It was attended by Prof. Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed, Assistant to the President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, a number of members of the University Council, the UNESCO Chair and its members, and the head of the Department of Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence at the University.

Ms. Maha Al-Fares won the first place for her story “The machinations of shadows”.

The second place went to Ms. Marwa Essam for her story “The Silent Voice”.

Ms. Eman Al-Mohammadawi won the third place for her story “The Last Shadow Game”.

This competition called for attention to the art of the short story and its employment for peace, stability and peaceful coexistence,
elevating the culture of peace to create
a cohesive and coexistent society under the shadow of the great Iraq.
