The Ministerial Subcommittee for Investing the Energies of Scholars at the University of Mosul held its regular meeting at the Central Library on Monday, June 23, 2025, chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jassim Muhammad, Secretary General of the University of Mosul Libraries.

The meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance the utilization of the scientific and academic energies possessed by the returning scholarship holders from outside Iraq.

The committee affirmed its full support for the directives of the University of Mosul Presidency in investing their expertise by assigning them administrative positions and involving them in research teams that contribute to the development of scientific research, as well as their participation in the editorial committees of academic journals issued by the university’s colleges and benefiting from their expertise in the fields of scientific research, which has an effective impact in enhancing academic sobriety and raising the university’s position in international rankings.

The committee also stressed that this approach is increasingly important in light of the University of Mosul’s recent achievement of obtaining an advanced ranking in the Shanghai ranking, which reflects the university’s rising scientific status at the local and international levels.

At the end of the meeting, the committee emphasized the need to provide a supportive environment for the scholars to ensure their effective integration in the academic and administrative tracks, while stressing the importance of publishing their scientific output in reputable international indexing databases.
