On the International Day of Drugs … The Human Rights Division at the University of Mosul participates in a dialogue session to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and their harmful effects

 

In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and within the framework of cooperation between state institutions and relevant authorities in promoting the culture of human rights, the Human Rights Division at the University of Mosul Presidency participated in the dialogue session organized by the Office of the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh Governorate, with the support of PAO, under the title “The dangers of drugs and their impact on human rights”, in conjunction with the occasion of the International Day Against Drugs.

The University of Mosul was represented in this session by Dr. Saeed Khadidah Al-Sanjari, head of the Human Rights Division, along with the participation of human rights division officials in Nineveh universities, a group of decision-makers and representatives of judicial, security and administrative institutions, led by Judge Yasser Mohammed Al-Qado, representatives of the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Nineveh, and a number of local community segments.

The session addressed the psychological, health and social dimensions of the drug phenomenon, and the efforts of judicial, security and academic authorities to address it by raising community awareness, activating legal frameworks, and supporting rehabilitation and integration plans to promote the right to health and a dignified life as part of the state’s human rights obligations.
