College of Environmental Sciences registers ten new fungal strains in the global GenBank database

In a new scientific achievement for the College of Environmental Sciences, ten new fungal strains were registered at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), within the global GenBank database, by Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil and graduate student Nabaa Ziad Mohammed.
The registered strains carried the following identification codes:
(PV711345 – PV12065 – PV18105 – PV712682 – PV712691 – PV712692 – PV713086 – PV713087 – PV714127 – PV714128),
were isolated from infected plant samples collected from Mosul and belong to different types of plant fungi.
This achievement is a qualitative addition to the university’s scientific record and enhances its research presence in international databases.
