In an active participation … University of Mosul participates in a professional training course at the British Library – London

Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, General Secretary of the University of Mosul Libraries, participated in a professional training course held at the British Library in London, with the support of the University of London’s Nahrain Network, from July 8 to 17, 2025.
The course included advanced topics in the fields of digitization, archiving, document preservation, and the use of artificial intelligence techniques in the development of library services.
The course included field visits to leading cultural institutions and research libraries in the UK, such as the archives and digitization in Yorkshire.
The Director of the British Library, Dr. Rebecca Lawrence, expressed her pleasure to cooperate with the University of Mosul and its library, praising the efforts made in rebuilding and developing the cultural and scientific infrastructure in Iraq.
She emphasized that this cooperation represents a successful model of international partnerships that contribute to the sustainability of knowledge and the protection of cultural heritage.
This participation is a true reflection of the university’s approach and presence in international forums and its continuous endeavor to restore its pioneering role and enhance its scientific and cultural status globally.
