In pride and glorification of the Mosul figures and personalities who influenced the cultural and civilizational face of the city of Mosul, the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, during his reception of the head of the Mulla Othman Al-Mousuli band, Mosul artist Amer Younis, accompanied by musician Shamil Al-Ani, one of its members, in his official office on Monday, July 21, 2025. In the presence of Prof. Abdul Malik Suleiman, Director of Student Activities, a series of procedures were discussed to commemorate Mulla Othman al-Mawsili.

The conversation focused on the band and Mulla Othman al-Mawsili, a prominent figure known for his contributions to literature, music, and religion. His Excellency instructed that a major scientific conference should be held on Mulla Othman al-Mawsili, his personality, and his artistic, religious, and cultural contributions. He also instructed that a special corner should be set aside in the central library to display his various cultural and artistic works.

The university president tasked the director of student affairs with following up and preparing the necessary requirements for holding this conference and coordinating with the relevant authorities to ensure its success and achieve the university’s goal of highlighting Mosul personalities and pointing to their achievements as pillars of excellence in the city of Mosul.
