On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, chaired the 21st University Council meeting for the academic year 2024-2025, in the presence of the members of the University Council.

A number of important topics were discussed, including scientific discussions and their mechanisms, the most important instructions and procedures for holding them, the university’s efforts to support research, scientific journals, and researchers, and encouraging them to publish in prestigious international journals that are included in Scopus.

In addition, the meeting discussed the ministry’s approach to the mechanism for distributing supervision of postgraduate discussions in a manner that achieves fairness and its purpose.

The session also discussed efforts to update graduate study curricula in line with the rapid modernization of science, in order to advance the educational process and achieve the desired vertical expansion of various scientific disciplines.

Other important items on the session’s agenda were also discussed.
