Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Prof. Abdul Rahim Ibrahim, Assistant to the President for Scientific Affairs, the Computer Center organized on Monday, July 21, 2025, an preliminary specialized workshop on the Open Journal System (OJS) for the management of scientific journals.

The workshop was held in the hall of the Multilingual Language Laboratory (Korean).

The workshop focused on providing a detailed explanation of the system adopted to manage the university’s scientific journals, while reviewing the special software feature designed by the Computer Center in accordance with the academic and visual identity of the University of Mosul.

The workshop addressed mechanisms to facilitate the use of the platform by the heads and managing editors of scientific journals, overcome the technical and administrative challenges they face, in addition to highlighting the specificity of each journal according to its scientific specialization.

The workshop was presented by Mr. Diaa Saif Al-Islam with a comprehensive lecture, which discussed the most important practical issues facing editorial boards. The workshop was supervised by Dr. Omar Al-Zaidi, Director of the Center, who stressed the importance of keeping up with digital scientific publishing and enhancing the administrative efficiency of the university’s journals.
