President of the University of Mosul Receives the Founding Team of the Programmers Syndicate – Nineveh Branch

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received the founding team of the Programmers Syndicate – Nineveh Branch. The meeting addressed the critical role of programmers across all sectors, particularly amid the growing expansion of artificial intelligence applications.
Both sides discussed key issues related to the programming profession, most notably the activation of the approved Law of the Programmers Syndicate and the importance of establishing a structured union framework that supports programmers and provides professional guidance. Discussions also included efforts to secure appropriate professional allowances that reflect the specialized nature of their work.
The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation between the University of Mosul and the founding team in areas such as training, technical development, and enhancing the presence of programmers within the academic environment. Additionally, they considered the possibility of opening an administrative office for the syndicate within the university to offer technical and administrative services to its members.
The University President emphasized the increasing significance of programmers in various sectors, stressing the importance of supporting this vital field. He affirmed the university’s commitment to empowering programmers as part of its broader vision for digital transformation and academic excellence.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of publications. The University President presented the visiting team with the book “Tales of Nineveh: When Smoke Became a Homeland”, while Mr. Ihab Anan gifted his own publication entitled “No Longer a Secret: Navigating the Realms of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity” to the President.
