President of the University of Mosul Welcomes Scientist Dr. Moataz Mowafaq Salman Al-Jubouri

Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received Dr. Moataz Mowafaq Salman Al-Jubouri—pharmacist, scientist, and professor at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom—who currently leads a research team specializing in neuroscience and the development of treatments for complex medical conditions.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Jubouri was warmly welcomed and commended for his scientific and research efforts. He was congratulated on winning the prestigious Geoffrey Burnstock Award, granted by the British Pharmacological Society, in recognition of outstanding global contributions in the field of pharmacology.
The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim, the Assistant of the President for Scientific Affairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed, the Assistant of the President for Administrative Affairs.
The university president expressed his pride in this significant scientific achievement, emphasizing that the University of Mosul celebrates its distinguished alumni who elevate its name on international academic platforms. He also appreciated Dr. Al-Jubouri’s dedication to maintaining ties with his alma mater.
In return, Dr. Al-Jubouri expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception and recognition, affirming his readiness to support the University of Mosul by contributing to the development of international academic agreements and strengthening research and cultural partnerships—efforts that will further advance the university’s global standing.
It is worth noting that Dr. Al-Jubouri will deliver a specialized scientific lecture during his visit, titled:
“Mechanisms for Publishing in Global Indexes and Opportunities for Fellowships, Scholarships, and International Grants for Researchers.”
The lecture is scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2025.
