The University of Mosul Launches a Development Program to Unlock Creative Horizons for its Students

Based on the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, to support and activate purposeful student activities, and under the direct supervision of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the university launched a series of development courses for its students on Sunday, August 3, 2025. The courses will continue throughout the current month.
These courses cover a variety of fields, including drawing and design, the art of public speaking and recitation, photography, volunteer work culture, Arabic calligraphy, creative writing, and psychological support.
Participants in these courses are awarded accredited certificates that can be used in graduation research. These certificates are also recorded on the Student Activities Department’s evaluation form, enhancing students’ academic and competitive standing.
The first week of the program witnessed a large turnout of students, with 176 students registering for the Volunteer Work Culture course, 328 for the Public Speaking and Public Speaking course, and 279 for the Drawing and Design course. The total number of students registered for all nine courses reached 860.
This initiative is part of the university’s strategy to empower students, develop their academic and personal skills, and honer their creative abilities. This will positively impact their academic and professional careers and contribute to preparing a conscious, creative, and qualified generation for the future.
