President of the University of Mosul Chairs the 21st Open Session of the University Council

Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, chaired the 21st open session of the University Council on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, which had originally convened on July 22, 2025, with the presence of all council members.

The session addressed several key topics, including:the Authority Guide and the electronic form for documenting research publications by faculty members in all colleges and centers, emphasizing the confidentiality of postgraduate thesis defenses, limiting attendance to committee members and official parties only, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s instructions, regulating the summoning of academic and administrative staff during the summer break based on institutional needs, while adhering to official working hours and the approved summer action plan, the distribution of courses among teaching staff, completion of maintenance work, lab preparation, and provision of necessary equipment and supplies in academic departments in preparation for the 2025–2026 academic year, enforcing student uniform policies in accordance with the Ministry’s disciplinary and educational guidelines for behavior on campus, preparing infrastructure and support services for students enrolled in the “Study in Iraq” program, ensuring a suitable academic environment and meeting accreditation requirements, ensuring fair participation of all eligible faculty members, including those returning from scholarships, in postgraduate thesis committees, avoiding the repetitive assignment of the same individuals without academic justification, supporting digital transformation programs across all university sectors, and promoting the use of electronic systems in administration, teaching, and assessment as part of a broader institutional development strategy, implementing fire safety and prevention measures in university buildings, including assigning responsible units to conduct regular inspections of alarm and extinguishing systems to ensure full readiness.
