Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received researcher and historian Ma’an Al-Zakaria in his office on Sunday morning, August 31, 2025. During the meeting, Al-Zakaria presented a valuable gift to the University Presidency in the form of his new encyclopedic book titled “Encyclopedia of the People of Mosul,” published in two volumes.

The discussion during the meeting focused on the historical phases of the establishment of the University of Mosul and the significant role it has played in the development of higher education in Iraq. It also included a review of the university’s current achievements and its distinguished position in advancing scientific research, elevating it to competitive levels both locally and internationally.

The University President praised this cultural and scientific initiative, emphasizing that the university remains a beacon of knowledge and a center for preserving the city’s rich history and producing knowledge.
