University of Mosul and the Near East Foundation Discuss Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Entrepreneurship and Green and Digital Projects in Nineveh

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, hosted a delegation from the Near East Foundation (NEF) to discuss a memorandum of understanding aimed at implementing the “Support for Green, Digital, and Innovative Small and Medium Enterprises in Mosul” activity.
This initiative is part of the BREP project under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the German Development Bank (KfW).
During the meeting, the university president emphasized the importance of this step in empowering students and graduates and enhancing their skills in entrepreneurship. He noted that the project would support the small and medium enterprise ecosystem, particularly in green and digital sectors, aligning with the sustainable development goals in Nineveh Governorate.
For her part, the representative of the Near East Foundation praised the efforts of the University of Mosul and its openness to international partnerships, affirming the organization’s commitment to strengthening joint cooperation that benefits youth, the environment, and the local economy.
