Scientific Expertise and Consultations of the University of Mosul Contribute to the Rehabilitation of Al-Noori Grand Mosque and Its Leaning Minaret

 

Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received on Sunday, September 7, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohamed Hamdoun, Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Reconstruction and Projects Department at the University Presidency, along with the engineering consultancy team affiliated with the College of Engineering. The team played a prominent role and left clear marks in the rehabilitation efforts of Al-Noori Grand Mosque and its leaning minaret, Al-Hadba, following the destruction they suffered during the control of terrorist gangs over Mosul.

The team’s contribution came through applied scientific studies, specialized engineering insights, and research proposals presented by the members of the consultancy office, which supported the working teams on the reconstruction project.

The university president praised the team’s efforts, commending their scientific, research, and consultancy dedication in supporting the rehabilitation and reconstruction process. He also affirmed the University of Mosul’s commitment to serving the city and its community by providing expertise that helps lay the foundations for a better future.
