University of Mosul Launches a University Leaderships Development Course

In line with its commitment to advancing administrative and organizational competencies, and to strengthening the concept of participatory leadership and team spirit, the Continuing Education Center at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University Presidency, launched on Sunday, September 14, 2025, a training course for developing university leadership. The event was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed, Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, along with the Director of the Continuing Education Center.

The course witnessed broad participation from college deans, heads of academic departments, directors of centers and administrative units, in addition to mid-level academic and administrative leaders. It opened with its first module focused on the fundamentals of university leadership and ethics of academic work. The upcoming modules will cover strategic planning and quality management, effective communication and crisis management, digital transformation in higher education, as well as the development of supervision, monitoring, and decision-making skills.

This course is part of the university’s plan to prepare a new generation of academic leaders capable of meeting challenges, contributing to improving higher education outcomes, and strengthening the university’s role in serving the community.
