On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the University of Mosul, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University, hosted the ministerial committee tasked with establishing a new Educational and Psychological Research Center. This visit is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to create specialized research centers that contribute to the development of education, support educational and psychological studies, and provide a solid academic environment that aligns with community needs and addresses current challenges.

The committee emphasized that the new center will be an important knowledge resource through its three departments: Psychological Research, Educational Research, and Capacity Development. They highlighted that its establishment represents a significant step toward building a strong scientific foundation that will contribute to shaping educational and pedagogical policies in Iraq. The committee also praised the preparation and seriousness demonstrated in the proposed work mechanisms for the success of the project.

During their visit to several university facilities, including Dar Ibn Al-Atheer for Printing and Publishing, the Grand Theater, and the Central Library, the committee commended their readiness and organization, reflecting the university’s commitment to providing advanced infrastructure.

The committee concluded by stating that the establishment of the Educational and Psychological Research Center would be a significant addition to the University of Mosul’s journey, further enhancing its scientific and research presence at both the national and regional levels.
