On Thursday, 25 September, 2025, Mosul University Stadium hosted a friendly match between the stars of Iraqi National Team and Mosul Sport Club. The match was jointly organized with the Iraqi Football Federation and Nineveh Governorate.

The match was attended by a large number of officials and fans, including Professor Muzahim Al-Khayat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, Nineveh Governor Dr. Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, and Dr. Saad Sultan, Advisor to the Prime Minister, along with Major General Qutaiba Al-Jubouri, Commander of Nineveh Operations, Major General Falah Al-Jarba, Commander of Nineveh Police, and Mr. Raad Shaker, Director of Youth and Sports in Nineveh.

The attendees and players praised the special atmosphere of the stadium, emphasizing that hosting the match was a clear message about the revival of sportsmanship in the city and a celebration of the golden era of Iraqi football. They also stressed that bringing together iconic Iraqi national team players with the Mosul Sports Club in a celebratory setting highlighted the significance of the event in strengthening sports ties and rekindling the memories of passionate football fans.
