The University of Mosul Shapes the Future of Agriculture and Emphasizes Employing Its Graduates’ Skills

As part of its efforts to enhance applied education and connect its outputs to the job market, the College of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Mosul organized a scientific seminar titled “The Future of Agriculture and the Employment of Skills for Graduates of the College of Agriculture and Forestry” on Wednesday, October 9, 2025. The seminar was attended by the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Professor Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayat, the Administrative Assistant to the President of the University, Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hasan Hamid, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ali Farouk Al-Muadidi, as well as several faculty members, researchers, and students.

The seminar aimed to discuss ways to develop the agricultural sector and enhance the practical skills of the college’s students and graduates to align with the labor market’s needs and support sustainable agricultural development in Nineveh Governorate and Iraq as a whole.

The sessions included scientific topics addressing ways to link agricultural education with field reality, encouraging innovation in modern agriculture and smart technologies, as well as presenting successful experiences of graduates who contributed to developing agricultural production and applied academic knowledge in the practical field.

The seminar concluded with a series of recommendations emphasizing the importance of expanding partnerships between the university and the public and private sectors to open broader horizons for employing graduates and enabling them to contribute effectively to achieving food security and sustainable development.
