“Enriching the Visual Space” at the University of Mosul: An Artistic Masterpiece Reflecting the Beauty of Knowledge and Creativity

University of Mosul hosts the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research “Enriching the Visual Space”.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, the President of Mosul University,
inaugurated on Tuesday, 14 October, 2025, the activities of the “Enriching the Visual Space” initiative for private universities, aimed at embedding aesthetic values and enhancing the presence of art within the university environment.
The activity attended by Professor Dr. Hamed Al-Rashidi, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, along with Assistant Lecturer Ammar Zuhair Sabri and Mr. Murtada Kamil Hadi, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s ministerial committee. Also present were Professor Tahseen Haddad, Head of the Artists’ Union in Nineveh, and Professor Dr. Khaleef Mahmoud, President of the Iraqi Fine Artists Association, Nineveh branch, along with a distinguished group of artists, academics, and students.
At the opening, a visual arts exhibition was inaugurated in the Fine Arts Museum Hall, marking the first event of the initiative. The exhibition featured distinguished works by Nineveh’s artists, showcasing the diversity of creativity and the city’s artistic identity, with active participation from the Nineveh Artists’ Union.
The activates will be during 14-18 October, 2025, to highlight the artistic creativity, enhancing the interaction between the academic and cultural sectors.
This aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education’s goal of enriching the university space with beauty and creativity.
In his speech, the President of Mosul University emphasized that the university fosters fine arts as a key pillar in building the aesthetic and cultural awareness among the students. He praised the ministry’s initiative, which supports young artists and strengthens the presence of Iraqi art in higher education institutions.
