Opening of the Dialysis Center at the Research Hospital of the University of Mosul

Under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Iraq, Engineer Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani, and under the supervision of the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, the Peritoneal Dialysis Center was inaugurated on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in the Department of Nephrology and Urology at the Research Hospital of the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Nineveh Health Directorate and as part of the national peritoneal dialysis project.
The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Abdul-Rahim Ibrahim Jasim, the Assistant of the President of the University for Scientific Affairs, representing the University President, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, along with several doctors, specialists, and representatives from the global company BAXTER (Vantive).
The opening of the center at the University of Mosul coincided with similar centers in Baghdad and Erbil, as part of the national plan to expand peritoneal dialysis services. This marks a significant step in enhancing the capabilities of the healthcare sector in Iraq and improving the quality of medical services provided to citizens by introducing advanced therapeutic techniques that raise the level of healthcare and alleviate the burden on hospitals.
