The University of Mosul Embodies Its Humanitarian Mission through the “Madrasati” Initiative to Support Education and Care for Orphans

In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, the Volunteer Work Division in the Student Activities Department at the university launched the “Madrasati” initiative. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Volunteer Work Division at the Nineveh Directorate of Education, aiming to promote the values of giving and community responsibility that the university upholds in serving society.

The initiative’s activities took place at the Al-Farah Model School for Orphans in the right side of Mosul, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hasan Hamed, the Assistant of the President of the University for Administrative Affairs. The event included the distribution of school bags and stationery to orphaned and needy students at the start of the new academic year. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to supporting education and providing care and attention to the most vulnerable groups.

This event is a response to the initiative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, “Madrasati,” which aims to unify national efforts to support orphaned and needy children in public schools at the beginning of the academic year, fostering cooperation between state institutions and society.

The Al-Farah Model School, which hosted the event, represents a unique success story in Nineveh. It was established through voluntary efforts and funded by donations from the province’s residents, becoming a shining example of social solidarity and community will that elevates education and instills hope in the hearts of the new generations.
